JOURNALISM

Although I was inspired to become a journalist by the reporters and writers in the papers of my youth – James Cameron and John Rafferty to name but two – I was never a reporter per se myself (a short stint covering the occasional East Kilbride Town Council notwithstanding).
However, I did grab every opportunity I got to write features and I still do. So, in case anyone’s interested, I have been to the back of the coal cellar of my computer and found a few dusty old boxes of discarded features. They range from movie star interviews at the Venice Film Festival to travel pieces for the Australian newspaper via humour pieces for a women’s sex magazine and opinion columns for the Sydney Morning Herald.
Yes, I am a whore. All writers are – we do for money what we should do for love. But this stuff’s free – a little free love, if you like - so stop complaining.
